Ahead of the 10th European Arthouse Cinema Day, we’d like to highlight a wonderful initiative.

The Film Therapy Film Club (FTFC) is a project by Tisza Mozi cinema in Szolnok, Hungary. It uses European films to spark conversations about mental health, social issues, and environmental topics. The program is designed for young people (ages 13–25) and adults, and includes film screenings, expert-led discussions, and creative workshops where participants can express themselves through art, painting, graffiti, or writing. FTFC is also building a special collection of films and educational materials to support screenings and therapeutic sessions on these topics.

We invite everyone to submit films exploring themes such as mental health problems, anxiety, bullying, sexual harassment, alcohol or drug issues, domestic violence, parental divorce, other illnesses (depression, panic attacks, apathy), environmental challenges, and human vs. nature conflicts. Films can be of any genre or format!

This project helps young audiences connect with cinema, encourages meaningful discussions, and creates opportunities for learning and personal growth.
