The future of Arthouse Cinema is in the younger generations of potential cinema-goers. Kids and Teenagers are groups that have the potential of reshaping the arthouse market, but that need to be made to feel like they belong in there. But finding out what the ways to attract and retain those audiences and what step to take is not always easy.
How to participate
To this end, we are offering cinemas a Workshop with several leading experts in this field, with concrete tools on how to make your cinema and program more Young-Audience friendly, or if you are already in a process of making it so, to compare your measures to those in the sector.
The workshop will take place on Wednesday 6th November at 2PM CET time on Zoom. The link will be sent out on the day to all registered participants.
The Workshop will be divided in three parts :
Firstly, Jeanette Schjerva from Film i Skane will present the newly created english version of the toolbox that the institution edited with concrete steps for cinemas to evaluate and improve their accessibility to Young Audiences
Secondly, Irene Angel Echeverri and Noémie Levadoux, in charge of the Young Audience programs at Europa Cinemas, will presentthe principles of European support to Young Audience initiatives as well as exemples of succesful initiatives.
Finally, a moderated group discussion will be offered as a space for cinema managers to reflect on their practice in the field and share their ideas.
No restriction is placed on the attendance of the first two parts, but the third one can only accomodate up to 20 participants, thank you for notifying interest in participating in the moderated group workshop ín the formular below ON TOP of the registration for the rest of the workshop.
On top of Film i Skane and Europa Cinemas, we would like to thank Kids Regio in their support in the organisation of this workshop and the production of the english version of the Toolbox.
